HomeBase Cincinnati is a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen organizations that enhance neighborhoods through community building, housing, and economic development.
Challenge
After a turbulent period followed by changes in leadership, HomeBase found itself needing to reclaim and strengthen its role as a community development resource––to literally shift the perception from being a disorganized and dysfunctional organization to one which is recognized, entrusted and harnessed as the go-to agent for strategic placemaking in Greater Cincinnati.
Solution
Given HomeBase's digital ecosystem is comprised of its website, a CRM platform and social media, we developed an approach to reimagine its website as the hub––to reposition it from a source for information to a catalyst for social and economic impact. To do this, we conducted in-depth interviews with leadership, reviewed member survey results, performed a deep analysis of their website information architecture, user experience and content, and evaluated performance metrics across channels. Inputs from these efforts were interpreted, synthesized and translated into a new digital marketing strategy, the development of new information architecture, content models and user experience wireframes, all of which shaped and guided the redesign and development of their new audience-centric website. Additionally, we produced a new website user guide and provided training to administrators, boosting their comfort and confidence in the management of their website going forward.
